Religious diversity

Module Overview

Originated by: Dr Felicia Rivera Megret

Religious diversity is an attitude or policy regarding the diversity of religious belief systems co-existing in society. It suggests an acceptance that one’s own religion is not held to be the sole and exclusive source of truth, and acknowledgement that at least some truths and true values exist in other religions.

This module looks at the five major religions in the world and how the compare in terms of the belief systems.

We will explore

  • What are the central themes in the major religions of the world?
  • The importance of respecting other people’s beliefs
  • What happens when people don’t respect other’s beliefs?
  • Storytelling in religion
  • Listening to our classmates stories about religion

We are continously working to improve and update our material to ensure it is meeting the needs of students and teachers alike.

We believe that some topics are approached more powerfully by bringing in animation. That is why some of the topics have videos to illustrate the learning points
