Every animal – mammal, bird, reptile, fish and amphibian has a brain. But the human brain is unique. Although it’s not the largest organ, it gives us the power to speak, imagine and problem solve. It is truly an amazing organ. The scientific study of the brain and nervous system is called neuroscience or neurobiology. The field of neuroscience is so vast – and the brain and nervous system are so complex — this module starts with the basic and provides an overview of this complicated organ. The intention is that students can use the information to help them understand themselves a little better.
