Secondary schools

Our evidence-based tools and resources support practitioners to provide effective early prevention work with children and young people. Combining approaches from the fields of coaching and positive psychology, our tools build positive mental health, wellbeing and resilience.

We use the very best neuroscience academic research, as the foundation for evidence-based practice, for in the classroom.

  • Exploring behavioural developments such as: empathy, emotions and feelings and concern for the body
  • Improving students time management, social skills and awareness of potential bullying in the school
  • Improving student attendance and attitudes to their own learning

What support can we offer?

  • Support for staff

There is an epidemic of staff stress within schools, with thousands on long-term stress leave and more than four out of five teachers saying their job has impacted negatively on their health and wellbeing over the last year (NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union 2018).

There is also a growing realisation of the impact poor teacher wellbeing has on classroom performance, pupil mental health and school budgets.

We have developed staff wellbeing workshops and programmes that support the development of staff wellbeing essential for any whole school approach.

  • Staff training for school wellbeing

Our training and workshops equip staff with a range of practical skills, tools and strategies that develop positive mental health, wellbeing and resilience. We specialise in equipping staff with strategies, tools and resources to use to support pupils. These can be applied in the classroom as part of pastoral support or as a whole school ethos.

  • Pupil peer led support

We provide training that enables children and young people to lead wellbeing support for peers in their school. These include workshops for Wellbeing Ambassadors to lead campaigns that reduce stigma and stress amongst peers. Our peer mentoring programmes develop positive relationships and strategies that improve wellbeing and resilience.

  • Leadership and culture

School leaders have a crucial role to play in leading effective strategies for whole school wellbeing, while middle managers and pastoral teams are vital to the successful support of pupil mental health and wellbeing on the ground.

  • Working with parents

Our parent workshops support schools to work with parents to improve the wellbeing and resilience of pupils. Our practical workshops provide parents with strategies that they can use at home to support the approaches to wellbeing, mental health and resilience being learned at school.
