Letting go of negative emotions

Module Overview

Originated by: Felicia Rivera Megret

We’ve all been hurt by someone or something and felt angry or sad afterwards. Unresolved hurt, pain or anger can have a negative effect on a person’s psychological or physical health. It would be great to think we’ll never be hurt by something or someone again, but it is not the way of the world. Understanding how to let go of negative emotions will help us to get through, build personal resilience and develop a more positive life experience.

This module looks at forgiveness and the process of forgiving another person. It is not designed to address significant life changing hurts which may need specialist professional support.

We will explore

  • Focusing on forgiveness
  • Why is it helpful to forgive?
  • Forgiveness is a process
  • How does it feel to hold a grudge?
  • Sometimes we need extra help to forgive
