Conscious knowledge

Module Overview

Originated by Dr Maggie Long

Conscious self-knowledge is defined as the state or quality of awareness, or, of being aware of something within oneself. Western philosophers have struggled to comprehend the nature of consciousness and identify its essential properties.

This module looks at an introduction to different parts of our personality and why we behave differently with different people and in different situations.

We will explore

  • What is our ‘personality’?
  • Why do we behave differently in different situations?
  • What is the Johari window?
  • How can we learn more about ourselves?
  • How can we be kinder to other people by knowing ourselves better?
