As well as the more obvious cultural differences that exist between people, such as language, dress and traditions, there are also significant variations in the way societies organize themselves, in their shared conception of morality, and in the ways they interact with their environment.

This module looks at the context of cultural diversity, why is intercultural education necessary, how we address the cultural needs of immigrants and cultural diversity in schools

We will explore

  • What is cultural diversity?
  • Why is intercultural education necessary?
  • Why is it important to address the cultural needs of immigrants?
  • What support should immigrants receive from schools?
  • How can everyone play their part in creating a positive environment for cultural diversity?
