Forgiveness

Module Overview

Originated by Akbal Kaur

Forgiveness is the intentional and voluntary process by which an individual undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an ‘offense’ and let’s go of negative emotions such as vengefulness with an increased ability to wish the ‘offender’ well. This is a highly sensitive topic to work with in young people and this module is intended as a light touch, practical and thought provoking module – not as a therapeutic tool for young people dealing with severe and traumatic issues.

We will explore

  • Why is forgiveness important?
  • Looking at how it feels to be forgiving
  • What it feels like not to forgive
  • What part does our brain play in forgiveness?
  • Learning how to reflect helpfully

We believe that some topics are approached more powerfully by bringing in animation. That is why some of the topics have videos to illustrate the learning points
