Module Overview

This module explores what is the difference between mental health and mental illness. It looks at possible triggers for mental illness and highlights real life examples of the condition including issues such as the potential stigma of mental illness. It then focusses on positive steps that children and adults can take to promote personal mental health, accept responsibility for their actions, plan for the future and face it without fear, and set realistic and attainable goals.

  • Characteristics of mentally healthy people
  • Mental health in adolescence
  • Looking at possible causes of mental illness
  • How mental health issues can be treated

Our programmes include a range of learning materials to support both teachers and students in the classroom. Content wise, each module is different but some components are common to all to provide assessment tools for teachers and familiar references for students.
