Moral values

Module Overview

Originated by: Prof Dimitar Trendafilov

Moral values is the range of intentions, decisions and actions between those that are seen as ‘appropriate’ and those that are ‘inappropriate’.

Morality can be a body of standards or principles that come from a code of conduct from a particular philosophy, religion or culture, or it can result from a standard that a person believes should be universal.

This module looks at values in communities, school, home and our own personal value system. It encourages pupils to think about respecting other people’s values.

We will explore

  • How values drive how we behave in certain situations
  • What are core values in our society?
  • What are our school values?
  • Finding out our personal values
  • Discussing each other’s values
