Originated by: Dr David Sastre-Yague

The human skin is the outer covering of the body. In humans, it is the largest organ of the body. It has up to seven layers of tissue and guards the underlying muscles, bones, ligaments and internal organs. Touch via the skin is a crucial means of receiving information. The skins changes all the time and over our lifetime.

This module looks at what we know about our skin, what can affect our skin, what stimulates it and how our sense of touch works.

We will explore
