Self awareness

Module Overview

Self-awareness is the capacity for introspection and the ability to recognize oneself as an individual separate from the environment and other individuals. While consciousness is being aware of one’s environment and body and lifestyle, self-awareness is the recognition of that awareness. An individual becomes conscious of their emotions during adolescence. Most children are aware of emotions such as shame, guilt, pride and embarrassment by the age of two, but do not fully understand how those emotions affect their life. By age 13, children become more in touch with these emotions and begin to apply them to their own lives. This module encourages young people to look at themselves in new ways and explore their relationship to their environment.

Our programmes include a range of learning materials to support both teachers and students in the classroom. Content wise, each module is different but some components are common to all to provide assessment tools for teachers and familiar references for students.
