Module Overview

Originated by: Dr Felicia Rivera Megret

In modern times, spirituality usually focuses on subjective experience of a sacred dimension and the “deepest values and meanings by which people live,” often in a context separate from organised religious institutions. Modern systems of spirituality may include personal growth, a quest for an ultimate or sacred meaning, religious experience or an encounter with one’s own “inner dimension.”

This module looks at understanding the concepts of Spirituality and to consider spirituality as a lifestyle choice.

We will explore

  • What is spirituality?
  • What is means to be spiritual
  • Why people choose to live a spiritual life
  • Looking at famous spiritual people
  • How to identify with being spiritual
