Conflict is a fact of life but it is on a spectrum and so we need to manage accordingly. When two pupils collide in opinions and challenge each other, then conflict can help us see other points of view. On the other hand, unhealthy conflict can soon spiral out of control if is allowed to.
Children learn social-emotional skills by watching, practicing, and eventually adopting the behaviors for themselves.
Conflict resolution is an important skill that pupils need to learn – beneficial to them within the classroom as well as in everyday life. Not only will children use conflict resolution in the classroom, they will also continue to use these skills as they grow.
